In Berlin, I initiated the exhibition series Sunset Wayfarers, where I present works by artist friends alongside my own in my private living spaces. Much like in my walk-in sculpture A:I:M, the selection and spatial arrangement of the works are developed in close dialogue with the participating artists. Some of the works shown come from my personal collection.

As part of Kunstfest Weimar and "Wo ist der Morgen, den wir gestern sahen?" – curated by Sophia Scherer – and in the form of a rhizome-like satellite at Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 11, an intervention by Markus Weisbeck will be on display within the walk-in sculpture A:I:M by Till Röttjer from 22–26 August 2024.

“Do the stars need a reason to shine?” reflects my dual role as both the exhibiting artist and curator. Markus Weisbeck and I developed the positioning of his works collaboratively, in an ongoing dialogue that shaped their integration into the spatial framework of A:I:M.

Markus Weisbeck has spent the last few years continuously expanding his visual research. A selection of the works created between 2018 and 2024 can now be seen for the first time within my walk-in sculpture. Most of these designs are based on the principle of the improvisation loop: intermediate results are tested and refined until a final theme and form emerge. Weisbeck applies this method, familiar from design practice, beyond the bounds of commissioned work. The results of his ongoing visual exploration are presented here within the context of Arrangement ‡ Influx ‡ Measurement (AIM).

With the works of my diploma in Fine Arts at the Bauhaus-University Weimar I am nominated for the Lyonel Art Prize awarded by the Lyonel e.V.

For this group show, I present a site-specific work composed of fragments from earlier walk-in sculptures, including the spatial installation Thinkerbell, several wall pieces, and a live broadcast from A:I:M. As part of the A:I:M AUDIO SESSIONS, I invite various artists to activate the space with their sound compositions and audio performances. The works are livestreamed—both audibly and visually—to @novaspace, where visitor reactions to the sound pieces can be observed on a monitor.

From April 6 to 13, 2024, an interdisciplinary team of current students and graduates from the fields of architecture, fine arts and media will present various cross-media works on the question of an architecture of the participants' personal space. During the exhibition, there will be a program of performances and an artist talk.
The resulting works encompass electro-acoustic composition, installation, extended painting, photography, architectural design and video work.      “If we were made for one day” is an exhibition and archive project by students of the Bauhaus-University, supervised by Florian Schmidt (artistic associate / Bauhaus University Weimar) and Natalie Keppler (curator / DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program).
The project emerges from material collections created during the course “Kunstwelt Klub – Archive of the Ephemerists”, organized by Florian Schmidt, as well as the two workshops “Performing the Archive” and “Berlin Excursions – If the Berlin Wind Blows My Flag”, both curated by Natalie Keppler.
The walkable sculpture A:I:M (An Introspective Monument) serves as a central site for the project, where I host the Fachkurs “Kunstwelt Klub – Archive of the Ephemerists.” Some of the resulting works are exhibited in and around the sculpture, transforming it into a dynamic space for ephemeral encounters.
The students focus particularly on the collection of ephemera (from ancient Greek ἐφήμερον ephēmeron – “lasting for only a short time; transitory; short-lived”) — material that usually exists briefly or is easily overlooked. Items commonly considered minor, marginal, or insignificant become the focal point of the exhibition.

For nova space at the Schiller Museum, I conceived the site-specific installation ________ (Subtle Haven) (2023), in which I supplemented the existing architecture with wall and ceiling elements. The structure significantly distorts the original space, leaving little trace of the museum’s architecture. Through this, I pursue a collaborative approach by creating unusual spatial situations that incorporate the works of the other participating artists. The space is thus extended, activated, and reinterpreted by their ideas and artworks, while at the same time posing visual and narrative puzzles that invite visitors to form their own interpretations and connections between the works on display.

________ (Subtle Haven) (2023) sets the stage for the opening exhibition where do we grow from here at nova space. With this work, I initially radically reduced and distorted the exhibition space of the Schiller Museum. From this transformed state, the POWER HOUSE programme will gradually expand, evolve, and grow over time – spreading organically into the other areas of the building.

“With the exhibition titled POWER HOUSE, nova space, the university gallery of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, is moving into the Schiller-Museum to mark the one hundredth anniversary of the first Bauhaus exhibition in 1923.
The program presented there bundles creative energies from the four faculties of the university and offers a platform for the art, design, architecture and research currently created on campus to come into contact with external guests and visitors.
Based on the annual theme of the K
lassik Stiftung Weimar - WOHNEN - the exhibition examines forms, definitions and states of spaces and our (re)location within them. It celebrates the 100-year anniversary of the first ever Bauhaus exhibition in 1923, in which the school first opened up to the public.
The term POWER HOUSE is on the one hand borrowed from Pilates, where it describes the energetic center of the body; on the other hand, it is familiar in wrestling, where it describes fighters who stand out due to their special physical strength. Analogous to a "Power Station", the POWER HOUSE can also symbolize a power plant in which new energy is generated.
Based on these ideas, nova space becomes the energetic powerhouse of the exhibition, a place for actions, performances and experiments, but also for encounters, interaction and exchange. At the same time, the exhibition space is subject to perpetual change during its runtime. As a nucleus of creative output, it grows and proliferates organically, extending beyond the public space to the university campus.
The exhibition will be accompanied by an extensive program of lectures, screenings, performances and workshops.”
