Ingresses ‡ Egresses
Ingresses ‡ Egresses is a walkable sculpture that both breaks with and responds to the existing spatial situation. Inserted as a new layer, it alters the existing spatial narrative and defines the exhibition spatially by connecting as well as obstructing the path to the adjacent rooms. Yet, it remains its sculptural character without becoming an exhibition architecture.
In this way, the work builds upon the concept of A:I:M. Additionally, I understand Ingresses ‡ Egresses, and HAVENS, where it was first shown, as a rhizomatic outpost of A:I:M.
